Professor Andrew Kincaid will hold a short presentation and film about Beckett and his work.
"The exhibit, which details Beckett’s life and work, is on loan to Milwaukee Irish Fest from the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs. The exhibit and presentation will the story of Beckett's life and achievements from his birth in Dublin in 1906, through his wartime experiences in France, to his international renown following the success of his famous play 'Waiting for Godot'. The exhibition details Beckett's Irish origins, which left a formative impression on his imagination, and awakens our knowledge of the other influences that made Beckett a great author and playwright.
Andrew Kincaid is an Associate Professor in the Departments of English and Celtic Studies at UWM. His research interests include Literary and Cultural Theory, Modern Irish Literature and History, and Theories of Architecture and Urban Space."
